update

it's the exam week!

have 4 modules to rush through, and thankfully, I'm finished with the two memory intensive modules..

spent last saturday going out to meet up with primary school friends, like sheree, felicia, reca, aloysius, jun rui, shixiong, nadia, clare, keng wai, kai wei and samantha (hope i didn't miss anyone out, not that they'd know anyway, heh ~(>_>)~

chatted about army, then subsequently about everything in general.. or is it the other way around? lol. I'm still waiting for lift ghost stories ehhh

had KFC and junrui's dad who bought goodies, like snacks, and drinks for us! thanks uncle!

even though throat wasn't feeling so good, still ate :D
stayed till 12am, though some of them went home before to watch soccer (different matches) and also reca who had to go clubbing with her friends (first clubbing experience!).

so the rest of the time was spent revising and playing for exams, and that's about it.

looking forward to LERM test, and not so much to MFB, since i need to study extra hard for it, as I have no A maths background.. himnae!

lethargic-ness

yay. I almost welcomed the feeling of being lethargic again. It's not happened to me since.. a year and a half ago?

anyways, lethargic is good, means that I'm tired of the life I'm having now, and have a wish to change the way I live my life. It's not that bad really, maybe I grew up a little, and I know what I should and should not do. hahaha maybe I should keep it just a tad serious, it's not everyday I can come up with all these. :D

as some of you may know recently, I feel more confident to tackle things head on.

that's a good thing right? Good.

ok, to get back on topic, it all boils down to interpersonal relationships.

I want to get to know more and more and more people. I guess it's just really fun to be with lots of people, all of whom you know well enough. guess it's now the social need level of my life then, i bet i got degraded from the esteem need level.

I don't want to end up a failure, therefore I never tried.

that's interesting of me, actually. haha.

blogs are finally beginning to be a channel to vent for me. happy thing, sad things, just throw into here, well, it's not that big of a deal if everyone knows about my problems, since it'll probably make me feel better rather than keeping it in, and, yeah I'm just too lazy to write in a diary.

let's talk aspirations.

I've always wanted to be a policeman when i was a small little boy, all those shows about a superhero, and a policeman is the closest thing I can get to.
In secondary school, I wanted to be either a computer hacker, or an electrician. haha. I was interested in electronics then.
In polytechnic, I just want to have a executive job in a MNC and get married.

putting it this way, I guess people grew more realistic as they grow older.

I still wish to have a harem though, like in Duke of Mount Deer.

Now, I also want to get more buffed up, mostly to pass my Napfa, and partly to look better. I figured I can get more muscle to look better in my clothes.

there's a whole lot of things I'd like to know, but i guess with experience comes answers.

I'll wait patiently for it then. :)

Eye Opener

I tell you.. AFA '09 was fun! ^_^

and it's not because I'm an otaku or what..

originally thought to visit this year's AFA cause I missed last year because I had no balls to go by myself, so this time, with the introduction of the Maid Cafe and friends who have the balls to go, I went :D

reached Suntec with Xinyi at around 3, queued for tickets for around half an hour?

found Sarah, who's working there as part of her work attachment :D

walked around and generally looked around, since it's all new to me la, and we made some stupid comments about how some figures were from some #$%^ eroges, and how some figure was cast-off-able, with sarah subsequently finding those figurines for us to look at. lol. Think I started it =x

and then it was around 5+ that Marlon, and subsequently Julie arrived. we then went and looked around some more. lol. at least Julie brought a camera ok :D

met Jing Ting during the event too.. Nice seeing you again :D

It's finally Kamen Rider Kabuto's turn to come on stage at the Bandai Kids area, and since I'm such a huge fan of Kamen Rider, I went and took a photo with him. lol. it's pretty nerve wrecking even though you know he's not gonna eat you up ok?

one thing though, I'm taller than Kabuto! :DD



then we went for the Moe Moe Kyun Maid cafe, since that's what we I were planning to do since kingdom came, and it's another nerve wrecking experience >_< style="font-style: italic;">almost turned red. lucky it didn't, heh.

and then we were just talking about life in general (I contributed maid related topics), and then it was time to take photos with one of them. It doesn't, I repeat, doesn't come cheap.

we got to choose our maid to take a pic with, but since i was so shy and trying to act so nonchalant, I never chose and said anything la, since what i really wanted was to take a picture with ALL of them. (definitely leads to a bad end)

anyway, we never really chose, and since the maids are all lined up for us to pick, a maid just sort of volunteered herself. thank you, since we really don't know who to pick, and my friends was waiting for me to pick, as I'm so so so hyper during the whole day. lol.

but it was worth it, and Marlon, being the good friend that he was, let me take a solo pic and a group pic with the maid,(dunno the maid's name, but it's ami, Marlon said.), well, ami had dimples and was real cute la. kinda wish she was in my class my girlfriend. well, I'm a potential target of being seriously delusional >_<
























Sarah had the chance to go see the concert as she's a staff member of the event. cool huh?

the 4 of us then stay outside to wait for the photos to print, and also listen to the concert, the fan chants were O_O, and I kinda want to go for a concert someday, just to experience the atmosphere.. :D

cosplayers were quite cool too, had a few laughs here and there but it's all ok :D

well, if things go well, AFA '10 here we come!

had dinner after everything, went to Fish & Co.

well, the food's not particularly great, since I prefer meat, and I'm full from eating the cheesecake in the maid cafe. :DD

still managed though. hah!

Taeyeon, the leader of SNSD, has the most male fans out of all nine members. It is quite an unexpected phenomenon, given that some members like Yoona would always stand in the center, be casted as main characters of dramas, and were basically well-known for her beautiful looks, and Taeyeon was just singing away.

What that means is that there has got to be something special about Taeyeon that satisfies the curiosities of guys. What's even more intriguing is that most females besides SNSD fans do not find Taeyeon to be too attractive or charming at all. Of course, they will probably admit that she is a little cute, but they cannot seem to find what there is to Taeyeon for guys to "go crazy" over her.

In fact, some of them may say, "how is she that popular?" And if they are an anti-fan, they may even go as far as to point out several incidents where Taeyeon misspoke or made a mistake to call her "disgusting."

Of course, not all guys like Taeyeon, nor do all girls dislike her, but there is a clear correlation between gender and attraction to Taeyeon. So how does Taeyeon maintain a fanatic support from the males yet confound so many females?

Quite frankly, Taeyeon is not necessarily the "prettiest" member of SNSD, let alone of the whole Korean Entertainment Industry. Of course, the standards of beauty are not objective at all, but if asked to pick the physically most attractive member of SNSD, most people will most likely name other members besides Taeyeon.

As many males use the phrase, "if she's pretty, she's nice," most of them pay a lot of attention to looks. Therefore, it makes sense that girls are confused about how guys rave about Taeyeon, a short and a cute, but not necessarily pretty, member, over other members widely accepted as the prettiest.

Nevertheless, not all males like "super pretty" girls like Kim Taehee, Han Ga-in, or Song Haegyo. To be more specific, guys like those girls but find them to be "way out of their league" or feel almost uncomfortable. It is great appreciating their beauty on television or to choose them as a guy's ideal type, but like the words "ideal type" suggest, not too many men dream about dating them.

Taeyeon is different, however. She seems like a typical, yet cute and attractive, Korean girl one may find around him/her could be found around him/her. In other words, she seems like a girl that has the looks to make her a realistic possibility as a girlfriend, but that doesn't mean she is not pretty. She's not super pretty or the prettiest, but she's as pretty as how much prettiness guys realistically wish for in a girlfriend.

What is more important, though, is in her actions. Males clearly like girls' "aegyo" a lot. If there were anything Taeyeon knows how to assert herself in, it would be in aegyo. Guys may feel uncomfortable or may even avoid forced and/or too much aegyo, but Taeyeon's aegyo is a bit dorky and genuine, and on top of that there is the added bonus of her cute looks. Whether Taeyeon is actually genuinely dorky or not is irrelevant. Just from her looks and actions, guys construe an image of her as a "cute girlfriend with a great personality." If there was a girl like Taeyeon around, most guys will definitely be attracted to her image of having great personality and try to "hit on her."

In most cases, guys assume that if a girl shows aegyo to him then it is a sign that she is interested him. For example, girls that send mixed messages to and/or flirt with guys may not be too popular among girls but may be popular among guys because they will probably find her to be seductive.

It would be big stretch to say Taeyeon sends mixed messages to and flirts with guys, but still, there is no way a guy would dislike his "ideal girlfriend" figure showing aegyo. Nonetheless, women may interpret it as "a not-too-particularly-pretty girl trying to act cute."

Thus, it is highly likely that women see Taeyeon as an "weird celebrity is not pretty and just acts cute but is still popular," whereas men see her as a "celebrity that's ideally cute and pretty and has great personality to top it all off." This is the disparity between the perspectives of the sexes.

As mentioned before, this is not to say all males feel a certain way towards Taeyeon, nor do all women feel another way towards her. Each individual will have a different opinion of Taeyeon, but it is true that there are many guys that feel all happy and giddy from watching and/or hearing her, and it is also true that there are many women who cannot understand what's the big deal about Taeyeon. That is not necessarily saying there is a right or wrong answer. Everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion, and we just need to respect each other's opinion.

Nevertheless, since it is clear that Taeyeon was able to use her image to become the most popular SNSD member, it is indisputable that her image is quite practical and an important asset to her.

anyways, what i really wanted to say was that this is really very true la. Some really pretty girls will have a hard time getting married. lol.

anyways, I think that all guys with normal and not over inflated egos will feel the inferiority complex that those pretty girls are out of their league, and that's why few make their moves la. lol.

of course, this may be why guys like us just sit in the foodcourt and makes comments like "woah, the girl is !!!" or "omg." that type of observations, but never really makes a move. lol. bah. what am I talking about.

ITS SO FREAKING HOT IN SINGAPORE RIGHT NOW. AND ITS MIDNIGHT. IMAGINE THE AFTERNOON.

where i left off

well, picking up on where i left off, I had another job at My Humble House during the weekend, from friday to sunday.

it's quite tiring la, being ordered around, got "scolded" quite a few times, broke a glass cup, but overall it's quite fun, once you get to know the chefs, and at least we're finally working as Servers, and not Servants. :D

saturday and sunday was the wedding dinner day.. got leftovers, and so we get to eat that afterwards, or ta pao back home.. cool huh?

anyways, wenliang and yongsheng worked with me, plus i get to know new people, like jasslyn, tammy, and azura (yuki) :D

well, I call her Yuki since that time her name tag says so, plus I find yuki an attractive name :D
cause, sounds kinda like Yuri ma. HAHA. its better than azura lim bo seng la. haha

I'm bored now, since i'm waiting for videos to finish converting so that i can send them to my itouch. :D

oh ya. the meal.. lol

went out with army guy, MAN, zh, junior, shorty, junk and very long for a meal. can't remember which day it was. anyways, zh can't make it, junk brought his girlfriend along, and Karen tagged along to the meal. FYI, Karen's another person we met during the Novus event. xD

so, it's fun but tiring to have to choose what to eat in the restaurant. lol. in the end settled for steak, as you can never go wrong with it, plus its one of the 100 best dishes in Singapore I think. =/

anyways, ate and went to watch surrogates.. unless you want to have a clearer picture of how surrogates/robot substitutes can affect our life in the future, stay well away from it.. the movie is SO BORING and the only action sequence was when they were chasing the human using the beam to kill the surrogates and their operator, which was.. 5 minutes long? WTF.

hated the job for the first 3 days, and we had a little joke about how we are "servants" instead of servers since we had to move all those stuff around.. still think we are more of a servant though.

at least for the last day i really enjoyed the show, as the crowd's super high, plus the DJ, Samantha Ronson is great! at least i heard familiar songs eh. lol. she even played bleeding love!

all in all, i had fun on the last day, I got to drink and eat those snacks :D
except the phlegm building up in my throat, plus my little right toe is feeling numb, plus my left feet hurts, must be bruising. lol.

anyways, made some great friends during the work too, and they include qing xiang, wen liang, zhu hao, jun hao, yong sheng and heng chang. with me and junk it makes 8 people. xD

when are we finally going to go out for a meal eh? LOL

exam results

I wonder why I am so afraid of tomorrow's result release.. must be because I did not put in as much effort as last few semesters.. yea. so now i'm anticipating the results and scared of it as well. nice situation to be put into.

why can't my situation be like, choosing between which girl to be my future wife? LOL

it's hard to sleep with this, but, i hope i'll be able to have that kind of dilemma someday. yeah right. xD

just finished 10 episodes of Liar Game by the way. This falls into my favourite type of drama to follow. It's full of those "mind games", and yeah, i like it!

Masked Rider

How many do you know? xD


















I've always been fascinated with masked rider.. since primary school? lol

you know last time in primary school where they sold yakult at 60 cents and it also comes with small toys? Those were the days man.. xD

So i collected some of those masked riders toys, I still remembered one of them had a motorbike with it, and since its slightly bigger sized than most, I said that it was one of those rare ones. lol

My real fascination with the riders comes when channel I by mediaworks was up.. yup
Kamen Rider Ryuki was the hottest and coolest show ever! LOL

then it was on till year one in poly. I wonder why my fascination with masked rider never died off..
anyways' Hiro Mizushima acted in Kamen Rider Kabuto, and since i always liked him when he played the role of the third year sempai in HanaKimi, the jap version, i decided to give it a watch. oh boy. it was another coolest show ever in my collection. lol.

the movie rocks, by the way, theme song is damn nice

and the next time i watched masked rider was this year, Masked Rider Decade. yup. its cool. lol.
and there's 2 movies for this one.. can't wait for the subs to come out. lol.

anyways, this post is kinda like a tribute to the series. its ongoing for 10+ years now, and its as strong as ever, on par with, no, even better than power rangers, which, as we all knows, only the first series of power rangers kick ass. xD

I dunno what I'm going to write, so its all probably just going to be some unrelated rants all jumbled up in one blog post.

I had the feeling that I want to be independent, in the sense of me going out on a trip by myself, exploring new things and so on. True, I get some sense of independence, in that I get to buy what I want with what I earn, plus I get to learn some korean by the way, not a bad deal actually.

then comes another problem, is it asking for too much if i want more independence? some people do not have the luxury to do what they want, you know? I'm not angry about some issues in my family or anything, but I was just saying that I want to be able to travel by myself someday :D

this post: maybe if you guys have time go read it, its gave me insight into a couple issues actually. :D

yesterday went for work at the pod at national library, its located at the 16th floor, and a cool thing is that you need to have security access before you can go to that level :D

so I went to serve wine at the pod, for a function for French Chamber of Commerce. cool sia :D

the best thing was, after everything, you get to eat the leftovers.. we do not get to eat for free in this waiter job, sucks considering the meager amount we get paid per hour -_-

after everything, my arms are aching from this morning's basketball, pull ups, and from serving wine for god knows how many hours xD

wikipedia can be a good place to learn new things.. I know I did :D

and people really do not need to have a reason to be happy. just go crazy if you feel like it, preferably in private.

korean lesson..

woah.. learning the korean language sure is tough! it's like O_O as you have so many different sort of pronunciations, without the easy use of hanyu pinyin too.. T_T

so there's like variations of k, 3 different sounding, and very hard to differentiate, at least for me la. lol

and now we're studying single sound. god knows what that means.. and there's like 8 vowels, which are like the easiest part already.. the letters.. don't ask. lol.

willl be memorising the "alphabets" like mad tomorrow T_T

Yosh! finished day 1 at work.. it's not bad, not bad at all.. lol

the lighting of the place sucks though.. and you have to rush to the bar side to pick up dishes, cos that's where the kitchen is, and then you have to rush back to the restaurant side to serve the dishes to customers, and in the middle of it all, there's steps you have to be mindful of, and the soup is terribly hard to carry. I almost spilled 2 cups =_=

plus the main dishes.. the cook said that the plate has to be hot, so the food is hot.. but did he know that waiters who carry them are bare-handed? its so freaking hot sia.. lucky never drop the food. xD

on a side note, there's no dinner provided T_T

was feeling apprehensive as horror movies are not really my forte. mine is in comedy. lol
so we went and watch that. in the end, it turned out quite good eh.
the show is basically about the main lead's brother, who got murdered with his wife went and possess the girl and his mother during the 7th day of their demise. then they went and killed those who murdered them, in order to get them to "spill their blood" on the grave so he can get reincarnated, due to ....

so why is it nice? cos there's story in it, and i like the way the story was played "backwards" or asynchronously, so cool! plus the revenge part was. lol. it's really cool, with the character's back story also played along the way..

the song. so nice! the vocals was so great in this one..

start of hols?

maybe I will blog about how fabulous my holidays are gonna turn out, or will be like. LOL

MC paper today was tough. its all application questions and whatnot. I actually had a nightmare that i failed my MC paper, and had to convince myself that I'm gonna pass the exam when i do it. YES its that scary for me. lets hope things turn out for the best.

Went for lunch with zl and ryan today. at tiong bahru's 18chefs. not a bad place, but food wasn't fab. anyways just crapped till we went home. lol.

would be learning korean in the hols. looking forward to it.
will be looking for jobs in the hols. looking forward to it.
will be basketballing and whatnot in the hols. looking forward to it.
will be getting a new itouch for watching performances and listening to artistes on the go. looking forward to it.

T_T received news that my parents and my 2 younger twin brothers are going on vacation during the December holidays..

Its a 8 days trip to Shanghai, and you know what? SEOUL, KOREA.
whats even better? They are going to stay in a SKI RESORT, and their first day at KOREA is EVERLAND, which is a theme park in KOREA. TT_TT the roller coaster rides looks cooool..

just my luck. lol.

At least i have my second brother, which I'd had preferred went on the trip, with me to guard the house in these 8 days.

Weighted the pros and cons.
Pros: 1. 8 days with no one home. Solid.
2. unrestricted use of the computer. its, gonna be on 24/8 during the trip xD
3. $200 pocket money for the 8 days. food and whatnot.
Cons: 1. Missing out on Korea. SNOW T_T
2. WTH am I gonna do in those 8 days? keep chionging computer games?
3. snsd... and whatever else I'll be missing out on.. T_T

anyways, MC is a killer! don't mention that I've only time to revise twice during the weekend, plus the past years papers are all either 1. something I've never learnt/heard of before, or its application questions.

Its sunday! a hell of a week coming up..

Its sunday today.

went basketballing with junk, kieran and zijie yesterday.. It was fun yea?
its been a year plus since I've last seen zijie. glad to see he's alive and kicking yea? xD
anyways the first thing he went was proceed to backhand me and so on, reason being that he always did that to me during secondary school, so now he would need to return me the favor. lolwth

so we just played abit and chatted up on old times la. haha. my bball skills never improved though. xD

glad to know we are still the same as we were since secondary school though. albeit some changes in thinking, and so on, if you get what i mean. xD

anyways, today started revising for Services Marketing. Its a pain man.. haven't wrote notes yet, not until i recovered my motivation. I'm sore all over. T_T

JunHao suggested a very good solution to my problem of not being able to focus on studying, despite my inner voice crying out to STUDY. yeap. I'm gonna impose a curfew on internet usage, starting tomorrow.

oh ya. today went to yishun to eat laksa. its nothing special, but then when we were discussing about my aunt's grandchild, we got into a discussion about her grandchild wanting to watch the same tele show and throwing a tantrum when he doesn't get what he wants. So i got a story i heard from our lecturer that her friend records advertisements and shows it to her toddler when she wants them to sit still for a moment.

I told my mum and she replied, "I also did that when YOU was a toddler, you just don't want to eat your meals" T_T I didn't know that!

chatted and argued about the old 2.4km track we ran. turns out he was right after all.. and then we passed our old holding site for the school. We went/sneaked into the school to try and find out what school occupies the holding site when the retard went and shout to get the security guard's attention. -_- as interesting as always sia, that guy..

after that went try do pull up. Kieran, as usual does it without any hesitation, and he did 7 pull ups, nice! anyways he told me to follow his training routine, but i was erm. xD anyways i tried and ended up pulling 2, which is an improvement from zero a few months ago. Now my dream is becoming nearer and nearer to achieve. xD (I once had a weird dream of being able to do pull ups upon pull ups. weird huh? haha)

sat in into zengliang's BD class today.. the female tutor was harsh. lucky my class don't have a tutor like that, or i think my group will flunk. its scary how they can phrase the questions until like they sound like they're making personal attacks 0_0.. whatever.. i'm done with my BD anyways xD

so i was just browsing through and i saw DJMAX Trilogy.. I bought it immediately. man. so now I'd need to get a job in the holidays if i want an ipod touch plus korean lessons. lol. seriously the game is a steal considering they even packs 2 OST discs with it. yay!

ohya. was taking a dump when i saw the newspaper article on straits times forum. its seriously cool and i like how the author said there were no cons for singapore having the best food in the world :D

G.I Joe was freaking cool with the CG and whatnot, and Up is a touching show. So long that I've actually watched an animation in the cinema. Glad that Up was the one. :D

thursday went watching with Peijin, Hairul, Ada and Kenneth. for G.I Joe. went picking up gifts too.. Friday went watching with Huiwen. Aisyah, Kennneth and Ryan for Up. 3D glasses was better some more.. Huiwen and Kenneth complained of headache from the 3d effects, but its alright for me. yay I wanna watch where got ghost and final destination 3D. lol.

went gyming with hairul today. I can do one pull up le eh. no assist. xD. went for haircut after thaat, and then arrived home just in time for MBC's Music Core. today's performance rocks sia. just lemme fanboy over them for a bittt longer..
